About PAC

The Pilipino Action Center (PAC) is a 501(c)4 that is committed to increasing Pilipino representation and putting in office those who show a commitment to serving and enriching the Pilipino community. We are a coalition of Pilipino domestic workers/caregivers and allies who believe in building power through numbers, voice and education.

What is a (c)4?

C4s can engage in unlimited advocacy and lobbying and can endorse issues, policy positions, and candidates, as long as these activities are consistent with the c4’s social welfare mission. It’s a legal way basically for us to get involved in the political process.

What does PAC do?

PAC helps organize, mobilize and educate the Pilipino voters base in the Southern California region.

PAC is a member based organization made up of primarily female identifying care givers. PAC is a pro-worker and pro-immigrant organization. With that, we support and endorse candidates who support our community, regardless of gender, race or status. We aim to educate ourselves and our members on all active issues facing our community. Lastly, we aim to mobilize a collective Pilipino Worker force for political action. We are stronger in numbers!

Check out our events page to stay tuned with what we are currently doing.

Why This is Important?

The only way we can be heard as a Pilipino worker community is with involvement! We can make our voices heard as a collective, regardless of immigration status. The larger the collective, the more politicians listen.

We can participate in the electoral process by endorsing like minded candidates, canvassing and educating the community.

We show strength and power through our numbers. The more people join our organization, the stronger our voice becomes and the louder our concerns are heard by elected officials.

Who Can Present Candidates/Propositions For Endorsement?

The endorsement committee. This is made up of members that are chosen based on their expertise, influence, or stake in the matter and are organizational leaders. The final say on who is on the endorsement committee is determined by leadership / those with an executive position at PAC. If you want us to consider a candidate for endorsement, please email us at aqui@pilipinoactioncenter.org or clytie@pilipinoactioncenter.org .

Who Can Vote to Endorse?

Active members of the Pilipino Action Center (PAC.) We vote on a simple majority rule basis. Any further endorsement questions or general questions can be emailed to us at vanessa@pilipinoactioncenter.org.

Who is Considered a PAC active member?

Active members of PAC have attended at least 1 event in the last year or are an active member of the PWC community. Please note, you do not need to be able to vote or have papers in order to be a PAC voting member.

PAC believes in and values coalition power, not power based on status.

Is this PWC?

No, but this IS the sibling organization of PWC. PAC does share the same values, goals and a lot of the same members!
